Tomas Bata University in Zlín (hereinafter referred to as “TBU”) is a progressive and modern university following the current trends of higher education in Europe and in the world. With a current student population of more than 9400, TBU ranks among medium-sized Czech universities. Since its establishment, hundreds of highly-qualified professionals have received education from the University. The University is named after a world-renowned entrepreneur Tomas Bata, founder of the shoe industry in Zlín. He played a significant role in the life of people in Zlín, as well as the whole of the Czech Republic and its economy. Tomas Bata University in Zlín is highly experienced in research of clusters, cluster organisations and cluster policy topics, cooperating long time with a number of cluster organisations within Zlín region, the Czech Republic, and also at international level, mainly in the form of providing and managing research activities. This partner cooperates very intensively with regional and government authorities and National Cluster Agency. It has carried out several projects focused on establishment, networking, support, and evaluation of cluster organisations. Tomas Bata University is also a longstanding member of the Microeconomics of Competitiveness network established by Harvard Business School.
